10 Things New/Transfer Student Should Know

•  Getting involved IS all it's hyped up to be! If you get involved in some kind of extra curricular activity, not only can it go on your resume, but you will also meet people with similar interests. •  Leave your door open when you are in your dorm, you'll meet more people and it is wise to bring your own vacuum!

•  Apply for any and all scholarships you can - http://fastweb.monster.com is a great site

•  It's best to use the Rec Center between 9:30AM and 4:30PM. For more information on what the Rec Center has to offer please visit: http://campusrec.colostate.edu/default.cfm?menu=4&home=yes

•  Use the career center ( http://career.stuser.colostate.edu/ ) and other resources available to you - it's worth it,

•  It is not absolutely necessary to purchase a parking permit. Alternate parking is available off campus, but the CSU Police are notorious for giving out parking citations.

•  The Fort Collins Bus system, Transfort (http://www.ci.fort-collins.co.us/transfort/) is a great, free transportation alternative.

•  RamRide is available at no cost as a safe alternative to drinking and driving (970-491-3333). Rides are available Friday and Saturday nights from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am but will not run during school holidays or during the summer. Visit RamRide.colostate.edu for more information.

•  Used books are available at independent bookstores around campus as well as online and they will save you a lot of money.

•  Colorado weather is crazy, be prepared for everything.
